Men also often Forging true orgasm?

During the time he was always regarded as being ready to have sex anytime and appears to act as though there was never reached orgasm in their world.

In fact, the men never do a fake orgasm. Curious what the reason? Here's an explanation of sex consultant, Tracey Cox in his book 'Hot Sex, How To Do It'.

According to Tracey, the reason he never faked an orgasm with a woman far different. They're sometimes too tired to not have sexual desire. In some cases, fatigue is too overwhelming orgasm can not be felt.

"They're going to pretend to feel an orgasm to cover that they will enter the 'drop' or lower intensity of erections," Tracey writes in his book.

Another thing that makes a man faked an orgasm is to make peace partner. Many women who think if their partner does not feel the orgasm, it means he's no longer interesting and exciting.

In order to make her partner happy, the man did not hesitate to fake orgasms. , And sometimes, women do not realize when the man was doing a fake orgasm, unable to distinguish the lubricating fluid that comes out with a man's sperm.

Expert opinions about the fake orgasm:
A sex therapist, Dr. Janet Hall argued that faked an orgasm is not a thing wrong. But do not do it too often. Ideal comparison between original and fake an orgasm in every sexual relationship you are 1:9. If the comparison is reversed, Janet suggested to you and your partner communicate with each other to discuss the issues. Creating a therapy schedule with experts can also be a way out.

A paper by Anzures-Cabrera & Higgins, Graphical displays for meta-analysis: An overview with suggestions for practice

The interesting paper below is currently available online:

Graphical displays for meta-analysis: An overview with suggestions for practice,
Judith Anzures-Cabrera, Julian P. T. Higgins

Keywords: meta-analysis • graphical displays • forest plot • funnel plot • Galbraith plot • L'Abbe plot

Abstract:

Meta-analyses are fundamental tools for collating and synthesizing large amounts of information, and graphical displays have become the principal tool for presenting the results of multiple studies of the same research question. We review standard and proposed graphical displays for presentation of meta-analytic data, and offer our recommendations on how they might be presented to provide the most useful and user-friendly illustrations. We concentrate on graphs that specifically aim to present similar sorts of univariate results from multiple studies. We start with forest plots and funnel plots, and proceed to Galbraith (or radial) plots, L'Abbé (and related) plots, further plots useful for investigating heterogeneity, plots useful for model diagnostics and plots for illustrating likelihoods and Bayesian meta-analyses.

Prostate cancer is rarely found in men aged less than 40 tahun. Prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in men and No. 3 is the major cause of cancer deaths in men over 74 years. The cause is unknown, although several studies have shown a link between high fat diets and increased levels of testosterone.

Symptom
Most prostate cancers cause no symptoms because their distribution is very slow. In some cases, newly diagnosed with prostate cancer after spread to the bone (especially the pelvic bones, ribs and spine) or to the kidneys (causing kidney failure). Painful bone cancer and brittle bones become so easy to experience a fracture (broken bone).

Although early symptoms are not apparent, in most patients with prostate cancer commonly encountered few signs. Among other things, usually water still dripping urine, pain when urinating, pain when ejaculating, lower back pain, pain when defecating, and weight loss.

Treatment
No one has found a patent medicine for this disease. But scientists are developing a new drug called Abiraterone as a drug for prostate cancer.

Presentation: King's College London 17 May Mental Health SIG

Can you join us at the Higher Education Academy Health Sciences & Practice Subject Centre - Mental Health SIG in London
17th May 1000 - 1600?

I am really looking forward to presenting at the Mental Health Special Interest Group next month. It looks a great prospect as I have an hour on the programme. The draft title does not really represent what I intend, paradoxically I will re-introduce Hodges' model and explain why the model is so relevant in theory and practice.

I will outline my presentation here in a future post and the programme overall. For my sins I am now also a sign-off nursing mentor, so being able to network is another great plus. More to follow ....

Here are some details about the SIG from their website:

Welcome

To date, there has been no UK wide, cross disciplinary special interest group providing a regular opportunity for educators to meet face to face - with a view to exploring common issues and challenges, sharing resources and influencing policy and practice in the field of mental health. Arguably, this has hampered educators’ capacity to shape and respond to new developments.

In February 2005 the ‘Common Ground’ event organised by the Mental Health in Higher Education project in partnership with the Health Sciences and Practice subject centre met to identify key issues facing mental health educators in nursing and the Allied Health Professions. Subsequently, the special interest group has broadened out to encompass all colleagues with an interest in sharing approaches and engaging in debate about educational practice and the implications of policy developments for learning and teaching about mental health.

Who is the Mental Health SIG for?

Anyone involved in higher education with an interest in mental health.

We are keen to bring together people from across all disciplines and perspectives (including lecturers, practice educators and user educators and carers with involvement in education) – those who are mental health specialists and those for whom mental health may be one aspect of a broader subject area.

Lying and effect for health

London - How many times a man and woman lying in a year? Apparently quite a lot of numbers with all kinds of reasons. But experts warn the importance of telling the truth because lying is not good for health.

Results of research conducted Katie Maggs found that the average man lying 1092 per year, which means a lie 3 times a day. In contrast, the average woman lied 728 times in one year, or about two times a day.

Men usually lie with the excuse to cover up his bad habits, while women tend to lie to cover up true feelings.

"Lying may seem to be an inevitable part of human nature, but this is an important part of social interaction," says Katie Maggs, associate medical curator at the Museum of Science, which commissioned the study, as reported from Dailymail, Tuesday (05/18/2010) .

The results of this study have been published under the title 'Who Am I? " in the gallery of the museum, in west London, which aims to understand the brain science, genetics and human behavior.

But as reported Neuroendocrinology journal that examines the relationship between the mind and emotions on the immune system could affect health lie. Self-denial or lying to make someone feel negative emotions that lead to stress are buried. While telling the truth will release the emotional pressure thus reducing the risk of stress.

When you are telling the truth then it will protect itself from stress hormones. While lying will create a feeling of distress and can become a time bomb ready to explode anytime.

Here are 10 words that often do men lie and women:

Man

1. I do not drink alcohol
2. It's okay, I'm fine
3. Sorry, no cell phone signal
4. It's not expensive kok
5. I'm on the road
6. I am stuck in traffic
7. Your ass is not great affection kok
8. Sorry, I do not know your phone
9. You look skinny
10. This is what I always wanted

Woman

1. It's okay, I'm fine
2. I do not know, I never touched it
3. It's not expensive kok
4. I do not drink alcohol
5. I have a headache
6. I bought it when there are discounts
7. I was young
8. I do not throw kok

An ambulance with a patient's heart Do not be too tight

Seoul - Ambulance usually full speed in order to quickly arrive at the hospital and could save lives of patients. But an ambulance carrying a heart patient should reduce the speed, because high speeds it dangerous for the patient.

This was conveyed by the doctors in Korea. Ambulance carrying heart patient who received lung or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Resuscitation (CPR), which is a medical emergency procedures are intended for a heart attack, should reduce the speed.

Using a computer model called Resusci Anne, the researchers monitor the performance of emergency medical technicians, lighting, sound and speed of ambulance sirens.

It was found that there was an increase in depth and emphasis on chest. But what makes researchers more worried is the emergency medical technicians are less likely to use CPR when the ambulance drove at full speed, and this would be dangerous for heart attack patients.

Reasons for emergency medical technicians hands-off is not clear. But so far there is no blood that is pumped into the body at the time the patient suffered a heart attack and transported by ambulance, so the brain and other vital organs 'starved' of oxygen.

"At the speed of 60 kilometers per hour or faster, then no additional blood flow within a few seconds, compared with the speed of 30 kilometers per hour, or slower again," said Dr. Chung Tae Nyoung, an emergency physician at the Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea, who led the study, as quoted from Reuters, Tuesday (18/05/2010).

Dr Chung also said that he gave was when the ambulance drove on a straight road without lights or impeded traffic.

But, in fact, sharp turns, bumpy roads and traffic congestion will probably increase the effect on patients.

Based on the findings published in the journal Resuscitation, maybe there are speed limits of 30 km per hour and 60 km per hour, which does not raise his hand off the portion of emergency medical technicians while maintaining the speed of the ambulance.

Rate this velocity can be recommended as a transportation speed limit for ambulances with ongoing CPR.

But Dr. Dana Edelson, Chairman of the Association CPR Committee at the University of Chicago, gave a warning before the ambulance started to reduce speed. According to him, CPR is still important for survival, and he noted that the effects found in this study 'very small'.

"The disadvantage of slowing down an ambulance is needed more time to get to the hospital. We must find other ways to improve the quality of CPR," added Dr. Edelson.

One way to enhance the quality recommended by the American Heart Association is so that emergency medical technicians can perform no matter where the patient requires resuscitation, including at the time had to run to the hospital patients in the high-speed ambulance.

Experts say it is common practice in Korea and the United States. For example, some patients having a heart attack during transportation, and others may not respond to CPR at the beginning.

"While some emergency services running at medium speed for an ambulance when an emergency medical technician doing chest presses, there is currently no formal guidelines," said Jerry Johnston, a paramedic and former president of National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.

Johnston added a comprehensive recommendation now is that people who drive an ambulance must be really conscious effort to make the journey smoother for quality CPR can be performed by emergency medical technicians.

Beware Child Who Could not Stop Eating

Every parent would be pleased if they see their children have a high appetite. But if the child has a voracious appetite should beware. I could have a rare genetic disorder is due.

As experienced, Ethan Starkweather (9 years) from Oklahoma who suffered a rare genetic disorder called Prader Willi Syndrome.

This condition is triggered continuously want to eat that make obesity worse and becomes a disease that can not be cured. Due to this condition, the family was forced to change Ethan's house to make it easier to live with this disorder.

Prader Willi is caused by mutations in genes that are marked with brain dysfunction of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands, causing hormone disruption.

Prader Willi is usually associated with chromosome 15 and gene OCA2. Children with this syndrome will be born with a sickly, weak muscles that control and have a weight below normal at first.

"But at the age of 1-6 years he will develop a voracious appetite that led to his being fat is not healthy. Parents need to hide or lock the food, because they would never be satisfied," said Dr. Kent Holtorf, an endocrinologist in Los Angeles, as quoted from AOLHealth, Wednesday (12/05/2010).

The problem that most of the children with this syndrome is to maintain her weight. Besides these children are generally shorter stature than other normal children, have problems with mental development, breathing, balance, growth rate, thyroid hormones and sex hormones are low.

Children who have this syndrome tend to have symptoms such as almond-shaped eyes, delayed motor development, insatiable appetite, there are such lines or bands on the skin, rapid weight gain, limb skeletal abnormalities, mental development is slow, testicular tidka down on the boys as well as hands and feet is very small compared to the body.

Doctors often have difficulty in diagnosing this disease and should always be under control. Treatment today is the use of growth hormone to reduce body fat and several new diabetes drug to slow her appetite.

"When these children were born, they initially had difficulty with your appetite. If a parent has a child with a voracious appetite and muscle weakness, genetic testing should be done to get the right diagnosis," said Dr. James Sears, a professor of child health .

Dr. Sears said it is important to get the right diagnosis for patients with Prader Willi.
Ideally, children with this disorder must perform strict low-carbohydrate diets.

But this only seems easy to say and difficult to do, because these children have a hunger that high all the time and it's hard to feel full. For that needed the cooperation of all family members, friends and the neighborhood.

Children with this syndrome can actually have a normal life, but this is often hampered by illness at risk of obesity that makes heart disease, diabetes or a problem with the bone.

When the body caught flu?

The virus that causes avian influenza has an incubation period of time had gone into someone's body. When the body caught flu?

The experts agree that adults get the flu or a cold can be contagious one day before symptoms begin to emerge.

During this incubation period, the virus will get into healthy cells and interfere with the survival of healthy cells from the inside. When cells started to become infected, usually have not shown any symptoms.

When the virus has spread throughout the body so any saliva or sneezing issued will contain the flu virus. That's why the flu virus is easily spread through body fluids.

When the virus has spread throughout the body will rise to symptoms such as sore throat, the body feels uncomfortable and dizzy. But if the symptoms yet, very little possibility of transmitting to others.

If someone has the flu, the contagious period to another may take 5-7 days. As for the children, infectious period can last up to two weeks.

As quoted from HowStuffWorks, Wednesday (31/03/2010) in general incubation period of flu virus in a person will run for two days. However, in some cases there also lasted about 1-4 days. Therefore, the period of the incubation period is very short-flu virus.

When the flu, the most important thing to do is to consume plenty of fluids such as water, juice, soup or other liquids as well as adequate rest. This is very important to help the immune system fight infection and maintain so as not to worsen the condition.

The annual flu vaccination is one way to build protection against the flu virus attacks. Although this vaccination can not provide protection up to 100 percent, but can prevent the condition in order not to deteriorate.

Other measures that can be done is to maintain personal hygiene, cover nose and mouth when sneezing, eating healthy foods that contain lots of vitamins and adequate water consumption.

How important the foreplay before making love?

Before having sex, many couples who do foreplay first, and many were not. Actually, how important is the ritual of 'warming' is?

Actually, foreplay is very useful for coloring game on the bed to avoid monotony. In addition, the foreplay is also good to eliminate boredom, add spice romance, as well as providing new sensations and experiences while having sex.

Many activities are included in the category of foreplay, starting from hugging, caressing, kissing, undressing, petting to oral sex. Although I do not live in Wales (but have Welsh connections) I sought permission from Ina to post this item as it reminded me of the research project I still carry around and have raised here previously.

Working in community mental health I've been struck on several occasions by the impact of sudden re-locations that older people make amid the trauma of the loss of their partner. The effect of bereavement and moving home on them, their family has dramatic consequences, depression, anxiety, stressed relationships, relapse of physical health problems. What are embryonic relationships with new GP and social care services are also severely tested. Perhaps others can pick up this subject wherever you live? Given the capabilities of research today, the relevance of findings could be further increased spreading the research across multiple sites, towns, cities and contrasted with rural settings?

Simple tips to recover faster from flu

Erratic weather can make anyone who got the flu or common cold. Initial symptoms such as sneezing and fever can disappear without treatment, only with a few simple steps such as rest and drink green tea.

Flu categorized as self limiting flu disease, which means to get rid of its own without treatment. The treatment is needed if symptoms are severe enough to disrupt the event. If mild symptoms, then the naturally immune system would give resistance to flu viruses.

Here are some tips to help improve the immune system when exposed to the flu, was quoted from MensHealth:

Breakfast antivirus
If you wake up in unhealthy conditions, do not ever skip breakfast. A study in the Netherlands proves, as much as 1200 calories for breakfast increased levels of gamma interferon in the blood up to 450 times more than no breakfast. Is a natural antiviral compounds in the body that serves to ward off the flu.

Fight with stress
If prolonged, stress can indeed weaken the immune system. But for the short term, busied himself with the hard work actually effective in reducing symptoms of the flu. According to a study at Ohio State University, the short-term stress can fight the flu if it lasted no more than half or one day.

Brewed coffee or green tea
Coffee or green tea in the afternoon not only make the body more relaxed, but help the immune system to fight viruses. Coffee or green tea drinks also contain epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which has a property to turn off the virus. These tips have studied in Canada, by incorporating green tea into the colonies of adenovirus causes the flu. The result, the activity or replication of the virus multiplies at a stop.

Adequate rest
Ideally in a day to sleep not less than 7-8 hours. According to research at UCLA, decreased sleep time by 40 percent would lower the immune system up to 50 percent. But do not sleep with a way to force occasionally drink alcohol because it actually weakens the body immune system. We recommend using a loose-fitting clothing such as t-shirts and shorts to faster circulation, and can sleep more comfortably.

Still do light activity
Research conducted by the University of Massachusetts to prove, that a mild physical activity can reduce the risk of respiratory tract infections by 25 percent compared to just quiet during the day. Mild activity triggers the production of white blood cells, whose function is to fight the virus or bacterial infection. These activities should not be too heavy, because fatigue makes the body vulnerable to infection. Even though the marathon athletes, the risk of infection will increase after the race.

"If done in parallel these two activities can provide extraordinary results to increase your appetite," Lee S. Berk said, a researcher, was quoted from Geniusbeauty, April 23, 2010.

The results of this study, Berk said, is expected to be useful for the parents and caregivers of children, in order to bring the child to do the simple activity as a laugh and a small exercise to stimulate appetite.

For information, other than increases the appetite, laughing also has other benefits that increase happiness, reduce stress and lower the risk of the cardiovascular disease. In fact, laughing can lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure.

Beware of Hypertension in Children and Infants

Who says high blood pressure or hypertension occurs only in adults? Children or babies can have high blood pressure. Hypertension was more common among adults, but the estimated number of children who have hypertension could also increase with the increase of obesity among children.

Whereas in infants, hypertension caused by premature birth or a problem with the heart or kidneys. High blood pressure that occurs in children or teenagers do not generally have problems with other health. But if left untreated, this condition can cause damage to the heart, brain, kidneys and eyes. If this condition can be detected early on, then the child can still have a normal and active life.

Generally the children who have a history of hypertension caused by hypertension in the family, unhealthy lifestyle, poor diet, excess weight, stress and lack of physical activity. When someone has high blood pressure, the heart and blood vessels have a workload that much heavier. The heart must pump harder and the arteries become much more depressed when she had to take blood.

If this condition lasts for a long time, then the heart and blood vessels may no longer works optimally. This of course will affect other organs that receive blood from the heart of intake. Nevertheless hypertension is generally not always cause symptoms. But if conditions are severe hypertension, it could arise headaches, visual changes, dizziness, nosebleeds, palpitations and nausea.

As quoted from Kidshealth, Tuesday (18/05/2010) normal blood pressure depending on gender, age and height of the child. In children referred having hypertension if their blood pressure higher than 95th percentile for age, height and sex. In other words, his blood pressure was 95 percent higher when compared with other children at the age, height and the same sex.

Children who measured their blood pressure will tend to feel nervous, so doctors sometimes measure three times and using numbers in his average to determine whether a child has hypertension or at risk of developing the condition. If hypertension occurs in children due to certain diseases, then by treating the disease a normal blood pressure will be obtained again.

But if there is no underlying disease, the physician will recommend to reduce weight, increase consumption of fruit and vegetables, reducing salt intake, increased activity of Fisk, learn relaxation techniques and avoiding children from cigarette smoke.

Most doctors choose not to provide prescription drugs for children who have mild hypertension. But if these lifestyle changes does not provide any improvement and his condition was getting worse, it is prescribing medication may be necessary. Therefore there is nothing wrong for parents to always ask your doctor to measure her blood pressure during consultations or other routine examinations, especially for children who are obese.

Impact: Journal of Applied Research in Workplace E-learning - CfP for 2nd and 3rd issues

Dear colleagues,

As you may already be aware, the inaugural issue of Impact: Journal of Applied Research in Workplace E-learning has now been published online at http://journal.elnet.com.au/impact/, and is available for viewing for free upon registration on the site. The journal is now accepting manuscript submissions for its second issue (Vol. 2, No. 1), which will be a regular issue, and its third issue (Vol. 2, No. 2), which will be a special issue on the topic of evaluation* and transfer of workplace e-learning. Both of these issues are scheduled for publication later this year.

Impact is an online publication of the E-learning Network of Australasia (ElNet at http://www.elnet.com.au), a not-for-profit organisation and Australia's only national e-learning association. The journal has been established to address the paucity of research publication avenues that provide a particular emphasis on e-learning in organisational, corporate and workplace settings, and which seek to bridge academic and business communities. Focusing on stimulating and generating dialogue, as well as promoting the development and sharing of evidence-based best practice, the journal publishes both refereed and non-refereed contributions from authors worldwide relating to the design, implementation, evaluation and management of workplace e-learning across a range of sectors and industries.

The Editorial Policies section of the Web site houses information on the journal's focus and scope, including topics of interest and types of articles accepted. For specific style guidelines and advice on preparing a manuscript for submission, please consult the Submissions section of the site (http://journal.elnet.com.au/index.php?journal=impact&page=about&op=submission).

Enquiries and expressions of interest can be directed to impactjournal AT elnet.com.au.

Kind regards,

Mark J.W. Lee

E-learning is another potential area for collaboration in writing and e-projects for Hodges' model. I will also post a few old, but still relevant MCQs on W2tQ in coming months and other items relating to Drupal and the new site.... ;-)
*Evaluation in health and education is also central to h2cm. I am very grateful to the Canadian Evaluation Society for maintaining a link to Hodges' model for many years. The other topic for Impact, Vol. 2, No. 2 which Mark highlights on transfer of workplace e-learning prompts consideration of e-learning within the past six years within the NHS:

Happy Birthday: W2tQ is Four! #h2cm #w2tq

Welcome to the QUAD [W2tQ] appeared four years ago today.

It started very slowly with just three posts between April 2006 and August. The annual post totals are:

2010 - 69 (so far)

2009 - 183

2008 - 180

2007 - 138

2006 - 28

Unfortunately, the plan to feature comments (this is supposed to be blog) came unstuck as back in 2006-2008 spam was an acute problem on blogger. The spam situation's much better now, but in re-installing comments the template I've adopted is proving problematic in some cussed ways. I could change the template and try again, but all that takes time ....

Although 'devoted to' Hodges' model (h2cm, the health career model), three broad themes have emerged:
  1. nursing, health, global health, public health, policy, politics
  2. informatics, technology, sociotechnical, visualization
  3. education, nursing education, academia, conferences, curricula
Let's have a look at a selection of tag-label counts:

Hodges model 150, care domains 45, definitions 41, reflection 21
  • nursing 80, health 45, global health 54, older people 39, public health 36, policy 93, politics 59
  • informatics 213, technology 62, sociotechnical 44, visualization 27
  • education 131, nursing education 9, academia 24, conference 61, curricula 18
Surprises (if any) include:
  • Drupal 52
  • economics 38
  • aptitude 4 and attitude 15 (good to see them there, I stress these constantly with students)
  • public mental health 38 (Still so much to do!)
I realise informatics is a great personal interest, but not to the extent of 213 posts. Of course, if I am helping to publicise conferences and these are faintly, just a tad bit technical then they are usually tagged informatics too.
  • dementia 26 and mental health 45
As I work in mental health and the care of people coping with dementia and their families is an ongoing part of my daily work these tags could figure more. This blog is not solely focussed upon work.

I would like to think that the blog and its posts point to the future also, by way of:
  • research 89
  • concepts 23 conceptual spaces 21
  • references 12
  • h2cm community 28, h2cm website 38
It was only last August that I added the bibliography to the blog, and as mentioned there if you can add to the list of publications please get in touch.

So as I close this post, to go light the four ;-) candles on the cake,
may I say a big -

Thank you!

- to all W2tQ's readers and supporters.

- Kiposis

Prevention
Achondroplasia is caused because the gene defect, these defects can not be prevented.

Starting Deadly Bacteria Infection Sore Throat

California - currently experiencing a sore throat is often ignored. A California man must fight alive against deadly bacterial infection that starts with a sore throat. Initially Patrick Abram Jr. (20 years) complained to her parents Patrick and Leslie Abram about a sore throat for two weeks.

However, when his father went to his house to check, she was shocked to discover her son's eyes turn yellow and swollen jaw, and his left leg. It turned out that this bacterial infection has spread to other parts of the body including the brain.

'This condition is more severe than just a sore throat, "said the father, as quoted from AOLHealth, Tuesday (05/18/2010).

His father eventually took Abram Jr. to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California. This is where the doctors diagnose illnesses Abram Jr. Lemierre's syndrome a rare but potentially lethal.

Lemierre's syndrome was first discovered by Andre Lemierre in 1936 after conducting a case study of 20 patients, 18 of which died of this disease from bacterial infection in the throat. The infection is caused by Fusobacteria necrophorum which accumulate in the back of the throat, but for reasons not clear the bacteria rapidly multiply and spread to other areas in the body.

This disease had disappeared for the emergence of antibiotic. But then come back several decades and is known as the forgotten disease. In the case of Abram Jr., who gathered these bacteria move into the blood stream toward the legs and brain. This is what causes swelling in both regions.

Dr. Robert and the team gave him antibiotics and a small section of vein bypass where the bacteria got together and forming blood clots. This procedure is intended to stop the movement of infection to other organs.

In addition, other surgeons also perform surgery to relieve swelling in his brain. Due to this condition Abram Jr. had to be in ICU with many pains. Further tests still needed to see whether antibiotics given have worked or not.

But Dr Holtrof Kent, founder of Holtrof Medical Group reveal that a person afflicted by a sore throat do not have to panic to the possibility of Lemierre's syndrome affected.

"It took several weeks to several months to make this infection occurred. But it must be observed if exposed to recognize the symptoms of sore throat is persistent or associated with systems such as headache and swelling in the body that would not go away," he said.

This disease is not contagious, but his attack was faster than cancer. The symptoms are very similar to the flu and sore throats, as well as the disease attacks different organs in each case.

Key in order to survive with this disease is to recognize quickly and immediately taking antibiotics that are responsive to these bacteria and dry the swelling. With appropriate therapy, the mortality rate is only about 4-12 percent.

Adjustment Disorders and tips on how to treat

Description:
Adjustment disorders refers to the notion that people refer to as a personal misfortune. Meanwhile, psychiatric experts called this disorder with psychosocial stressors. This disruption is caused by some kind of pressure. Psychoanalytic research has emphasized the role of mother and child-rearing environment became one of the main causes of this disorder. This disruption lasted for three months and can overwrite anyone.

Phenomenon
Manifestations of adjustment disorder and attacking behavior shown, excessive alcohol drinking, escape from legal responsibility, and withdrew.

Treatment
The patient form of psychotherapy in the treatment. One effective way is to group therapy. This therapy is intended to solve the situation with a quick adjustment with supportive techniques, suggestions, calm down, environmental modification, and even hospitalization.

Musings in the nursing domain (specific language)

It is one giant leap from the humanistic world of nursing, health and social care to the m(a-e)chismo of information technology. It is no Earth-bound chasm that greets us in considering the vaguest possibility that nursing could ever be captured, distilled and represented in a domain specific language (DSL). Given the full title of Hodges' model my attraction to DSLs should be obvious, but how realistic is this fascination?

Here are some links to definitions / resources on DSLs:
I am not advocating DSLs as a real time clinical software application, there is neither time here, nor on the wards. Since the sky above is clear blue with not a contrail in sight I am indulging in a little blue sky thinking, a reverie...

Nursing already has its concept analysis, but taken at face value this says nothing about domains as per h2cm (other than the context / application is nursing). To avoid confusion with career in the job-work sense, I have emphasized the notion of domains. By this I mean a partition of specific knowledge about a discipline or subject. This disciplinary focus or subject is often the province of expert practitioners. My forte then in Hodges' model are the INTERPERSONAL and SOCIAL care domains. This is my rationale for the musings here, as all experts were learners once upon a time, and are still as lifelong learners. It is an educational application that I have in mind.

I have come across a paper by Reinhartz-Berger, who describes the movement - Towards automatization of domain modeling. The author refers to domains artifacts and domain analysis:
(I have removed the reference numbers and inserted from prev para*)

A domain in this context [Domain engineering, also known as software product line engineering]* can be defined as a set of applications that use common concepts to describe requirements, problems, capabilities, and solutions. Domain artifacts are built and reused through domain analysis, which identifies the domains and captures their ontology to assist and guide system developers with particular applications in those domains. Despite the rapid growth of technologies and technical solutions, domain analysis models usually remain valid longer than domain designs and implementations, potentially justifying the cost and effort required for their development. Domain analysis artifacts may also serve as the basis for defining Domain-Specific Languages (DSL). Reinhartz-Berger (2010), p.491.
As the previous post - Reading the signs... Idealised Care - amongst several revealed, the domains within the health career model are broad to say the least. So broad that from the INDIVIDUAL-GROUP axis the left-hand margin of the INTRAPERSONAL-SOCIOLOGY# care domains are but distant horizons (with no curvature in-sight). It's no surprise that I keep wondering about how to get a grasp on that 'space', for reasons of a website, a potential community of explorers, educational objectives and sheer enthusiasm for trying to mix IT up. Reinhartz-Berger continues:
Several domain analysis methods have been proposed over the years. However, they all can be criticized as making the domain engineer alone responsible for developing correct, complete, and consistent domain analysis artifacts. Since domains may cover broad areas and are usually understood only during the development process, creating domain models can be a very demanding task. It requires expertise in the domain, reaching a very high level of abstraction, and providing flexible, yet formal, artifacts. Reinhartz-Berger (2010), p.491.
Also in the literature Chavarriaga and Macías (2009) highlight two approaches that are the focus more generally to help get a grip and the big wide world of knowledge: The Semantic Web and Web 2.0.:
... However, in spite of its semantic power, one of the main underlying problems with this [semantic] paradigm is the explicit representation and visualization of information, mainly focused on ontologies and the complex relationships that these code. This has made the Semantic Web inaccessible and unmanageable by most designers that are not expert on ontological representations and languages, but on domain specific applications and creative design.
On the contrary, the Web 2.0 paradigm provides a rather pragmatic vision. It is based on the use of wikis, folksonomies and protocols like SOAP, mainly intended to the automatic management of services and the collaborative maintenance of (mainly) syntactic knowledge-based information. Moreover, Web 2.0 can be considered an end-user paradigm. ... Chavarriaga and Macías (2009), p.1329.
The Semantic Web, Web 2.0 will (at some point) figure in the new site. A folksonomy can be quite broad by definition, as there is no strict control on the definition of terms. As to DSLs in Hodges' model, there we have four VERY broad domains. Exactly how domain analysis proceeds and what domain artifacts might emerge from this model would no doubt depend on reducing each of the domains, sub-dividing, being more specific.

If nothing else at present the health career model is a hybrid cognitive domain specific language.

McArdle Disease Syndrome and tips on how to treat

Description:
McArdle's syndrome is the inability to break down glycogen. Glycogen is an important energy source stored in muscle tissue.

McArdle's syndrome result from a defect in a gene that makes a protein called glycogen phosphorylase. As a result, the body can not break down glycogen in the muscles. This can cause weakness, seizures, and muscle aches.

Phenomenon
Common symptoms include, pain ototo, ototo cramps, muscle stiffness, muscle weakness, urinary red wine.

Treatment
There is no specific treatment, but symptoms can be managed by controlling exercise and physical activity. For example, avoid harsh or excessive exercise.

Large Intestine Cancer disease and tips on how to treat

Description:
Large intestine is the part of the digestive system to store food waste. While the rectum is the end of the colon near the anus. Both are long tubular called the large intestine. Tumors of the colon and rectum is the growth arising from the inner wall of the colon. Benign tumors of the colon called polyps. Whereas malignant tumors of the colon is called cancer.

Benign polyps do not invade nearby tissue or spread to other parts of the body. Benign polyps can be easily removed during colonoscopy and are not life-threatening. If benign polyps are not removed from the colon, polyps can become malignant (cancerous) from time to time. Most colon cancers develop from polyps believed. Colon and rectum (also referred to as colorectal cancer) can invade and destroy surrounding tissue intestines and other organs. Cancer cells can also break away and spread to other parts of the body (such as the liver and lungs) to form new tumors.

Consume too much fat believed to influence the occurrence of colon cancer. Research has shown in countries with a population of high levels of fat consumption is more common colon cancer than people in countries with low levels of fat intake. Fill a variety of products containing the chemical form of fat in your body (a carcinogen).

Signs and Symptoms:
Signs and symptoms of colon cancer among others:
- Tired
- Shortness of breath
- Dizziness
- Pain in the lower abdomen
- Diarrhea
- Blood in feces
- Anemia
- The form of stool (feces) long and resemble a small pencil.

Treatment:
Surgery is the most common treatment for colon cancer. During surgery, the tumor, a small portion of the intestines of healthy surrounding, and adjacent lymph nodes will be cut. Surgeon then connects the intestines of healthy. In patients with anal cancer, rectum would be cut permanently.

Prevention:
Colon cancer can be prevented by changing habits to consume excessive fat foods that contain high fiber. The main sources of fat such as meat, eggs, dairy products, salad dressings, and oils used in cooking should be reduced. As balancing, fruits and vegetables, and whole wheat breads and cereals contain fiber should be consumed. Please note that the high fiber in the diet cause the formation of large dirt that can get rid of carcinogens.

Tips Sex When Young Pregnant (Part 1)

For expectant mothers, especially those whose pregnancies are still in the first trimester, often experience problems when the couple wants to have sex. Many things about sex that need to be understood by the prospective mother about the 'desire' is.

Then whatever things they need to know? If you belong to one of the candidates who are still pregnant young mother, see the following things.

1. Decrease in sexual desire
During pregnancy, many women who experience a decrease passionate lovemaking. It is indeed common, especially in the first three months. Causes are physical symptoms such as nausea, fatigue until cramps. While emotional symptoms that decreases sexual desire is the woman's own feelings towards the baby.

Usually, passionate love will slowly rise during the second trimester of pregnancy or while entering a period of three to six months. Therefore, give an explanation on your spouse to be more patient.

2. Feelings of fear
Not a few couples who are afraid to interfere with embryo sex. Though it has no effect at all. Newborn baby will not interfere with the activities you and your husband in bed. Therefore, if you and your partner is passionate about, do not be afraid to make love.

3. Lubricants
Vaginal tissue when pregnant women often experience irritation. This causes discomfort when having sex with a long duration. Additional lubricant can help the activity above this bed more comfortable.

Consider three other thing to note when a young pregnant afternoon.

Pleurisy Disease and tips on how to treat

Description:
Pleurisy occurs when the double membrane (pleura) that lines the chest cavity and surrounding each of the lungs become inflamed. Pleurisy is also called pleuritis, pleurisy typically causes sharp pain, almost always occur when taking a breath. Pleurisy occurs as a complication of various underlying conditions. Reducing pleurisy involves treating the underlying condition, if known, and taking pain relievers.

Phenomenon
Signs and symptoms of pleurisy may include:
- Chest pain when inhaling and exhaling
- Shortness of breath
- Dry cough
- Fever and chills, depending on the cause

Treatment
The most important goal in relieving pleurisy or pleural effusion is treatment of conditions that cause the signs and symptoms. For example, if the cause of pleurisy is a bacterial infection of the lungs (pneumonia), antibiotics to control infection. But, for pleurisy due to viral infection, antibiotics will be ineffective. Most viral infections heal by itself without treatment.

Reading the signs - Idealised Care

Hodges' model
With the axes of the health career model labelled and the care domains - that fall between - identified, what can we read into and from the health career - care domains - model?

What basics of care and caring can we find there, what assumptions can we jump upon?

Here is a list ... (which also illustrates how the model grows with the learner) :)

  • Health, well-being and social care are not declared in the face of the model, this suggests the model is high-level - generic.
  • Health care (here) has at least seven disciplinary degrees of freedom:

    • Sciences (biology, physics, chemistry)
    • Politics
    • Psychology
    • Sociology
    • Spirituality

  • Health and social care theory and practices are reductive.
  • Health care involves the traversal of space - distance.
  • Health and social care has the potential to be depersonalising and alienating.
  • Health and social care is simple and complex.
  • The environment is inherent within the model in its varied forms.
  • There is a moment of imbalance within the INDIVIDUAL - GROUP.
  • Context is essential as a means to situate care (co-ordinate in an 'x','y' sense).
  • The means is provided to situate the care context in a person-centred way.
  • This model provides a template for personal and group reflection (shallow or deep).
  • The model is open in terms of the final content, the content as expressed in care approach, philosophy, discipline, description (concepts, problems, priorities, strengths, a 'mash-up') is not dictated.
  • In acknowledging the existence and primacy of the individual (located at the top so - must be important), the model provides a (potential) focus and vehicle for individualised, personalised, person-centred care.
  • Whilst individualised care is at the center of care theory, practice and management, it cannot be defined purely by virtue of the INDIVIDUAL-group axis and the claim of an associated INTRA-INTERPERSONAL care domain.
  • The individual must also be considered as a POLITICAL entity, a citizen, a legal entity that falls under the auspices of human rights. As such the individual is someone who can (or has previously) expressed their choices, wishes as to their health, care, well-being, best interests.
  • Being an INDIVIDUAL within the family of humankind - 1 of some 6.x or > 7 billion - this person is unique and deserving of highest quality care, dignity and respect that should be accorded to all people.
  • Health and social care whilst organisationally distinct (POLITICAL - POLICY) are to the INDIVIDUAL and carers (GROUP) concurrent, transparent and ideally integrated activities.
  • Physical care (SCIENCES) can be, and is, defined in mechanistic terms; for example, time (objective), events, place, outcomes, observations / data (discrete, quantitative).
  • Physical care is hence primarily objective.
  • Emotional INTERPERSONAL care can be, and is defined in humanistic terms; for example, time (subjective), communication, responses to events (behaviour), feelings, beliefs, relationships (SOCIAL), expectations, fears, observations / data (subjective, qualitative).
  • Physical care, emotional care is often mediated through the SOCIAL domain and the group - the family unit.
  • Since this model indicates an initial structure and content the model is of potential use as a reflective resource for novice through to expert.
  • The model is generic and as such not limited to health and social care.
  • Such is the generic nature of the model it can support all learners in lifelong learning.
  • The Spiritual is not there: it is ineffable. It is everywhere, everything, every'I' and everynow.
  • Time is inherent in several forms within health and social care.
  • The economics of health care is infused to all the domains, notably in the first instance to the SCIENCES and SOCIAL domains.
  • The economic effects upon the individual in a humanistic sense, may be remote, but is inverse in terms of its impact.
  • The model reinforces dualism: mind - body (but cognitively innoculates also).
  • In highlighting boundaries, dichotomy, limits the model can stress the need for integration.
  • The model suggests an antipodean fracture in relationships*: the patient and clinician (across physical care and mental health) inhabit the Northern hemisphere; while the carer (public), manager and policy maker the Southern.
  • Health and social care is grounded in human communication (and that which is mediated).
  • 'Sense making' must be a key issue in health and social care.
  • Given the scope of the model, technology must be making a major impact across all fields of health and social care.
  • The model can simultaneously represent the SOCIO- and the -TECHNICAL.
  • A great many (potentially - all) values and standards are inherent in the model.
  • This model can be represented using many media.
  • This model is open to the Management Consultant's delicacy alphabet soup, i.e. using letters to represent approaches / methods, e.g. 4P's, 4C's.

Paper: The health career model in forensic nursing

The other week a paper was submitted to a journal on the application of Hodges' model in forensic nursing.

I am really pleased to have worked on this as a co-author and to find the health career model proving its relevance and value in such a challenging care environment.

Basically we divided the work and the paper as follows:
  • Introduction to Hodges' model (new material);
  • Explanation of why the model is relevant in forensic mental health services;
  • Applying key principles of theory and practice of forensic care to each care domain;
  • Discussion, recommendations and future directions.
Of course, this is just the 'submission' stage, so I will share news and details here in the near future - for now it's fingers x'd! If you believe the above 'content formula' might be useful to you as a publication template please do get in touch: h2cmng AT yahoo.co.uk
