Making Love After Giving Birth, How Long Wait?

After childbirth, women are usually advised to avoid sex for six weeks. Is this true? Or just a myth?

Most doctors recommend it to sex after a six-week check-up. But actually you do not have to wait so long.

Actually, doctors recommend for the purpose of having sex for six weeks of fasting for the good of the mother. Since the cessation of bleeding is usually a safe limit for six weeks, as quoted from iVillage.

If the delivery was normal, and no bleeding, the cervix is usually closed after two weeks of delivery. This means you can already feel ready to have sex for physical and spiritual.

But for those who have lost a lot of blood, infection or fever after childbirth should be more patient to wait before having sex. Usually they require time for four to six weeks, rose after doctors allowed to make love.

Please keep in mind for those who do not provide exclusive breastfeeding for their children, then it could become fertile again after two weeks. Therefore, do not forget to use contraceptives.
