The benefits of coffee for diabetic, stroke, cancer, parkinson, kidney stones, colon cancer

The benefits of coffee for diabeticsNEW YORK - Never underestimate a cup of coffee. According to a study from American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, coffee may reduce risk of type 2 diabetes. The content of substances in coffee, according to them, can help regulate glucose levels in blood, and therefore, diabetes was begone.

A study involving hundreds of patients they do, whether it has a family history of diabetes or not. Study participants who drank five cups of coffee a day had fewer internal inflammation - a risk factor for type 2 diabetes - than those who do not drink coffee.

According to a report in the journal, coffee can increase the concentration of adiponectin, a protein in the body that helps regulate glucose. The researchers speculate that drinking less than five cups a day may also be useful, although more study is needed to support these findings. "At least, these are preliminary findings that carry clues about the benefits of coffee for the prevention of diabetes," the cover of the report.

Twenty previous studies conducted worldwide indicate that coffee reduces the risk of diabetes type 2 by 50 percent. The researchers speculate that the cause is klorogenik acid in coffee acts to slow the absorption of sugar in digestion. Chlorogenik acid also stimulates the formation of GLP-1, a chemical substance that increases insulin (a hormone that regulates the absorption of sugar into the cells). Other substances in coffee that is trigonelin (pro-vitamin B3) is also thought to help slow the absorption of glucose.

This is not the first research about the benefits of coffee. Previous research shows, coffee was also beneficial for preventing the formation of kidney stones, colon cancer, Parkinson's disease, liver damage (cirrhosis), heart disease, as well as inhibit the cognitive decline in brain power.

Research consistently shows that coffee reduces the risk of liver cancer and breast cancer. Coffee also protects the liver from cirrhosis, particularly cirrhosis due to alcoholism.

Coffee has also been identified to reduce the risk of stoke. A study of more than 83 thousand women over the age of 24 years showed those who drank two to three cups of coffee a day had a stroke risk 19 percent lower than those who do not drink coffee. Studies on a number of men in Finland showed the same results.

A study of 4197 women and 2820 men in France showed that drinking at least three cups of coffee a day can prevent cognitive decline in brain function due to aging up to 33 percent in women. However, the same benefits not found in men. This may be because women are more sensitive to caffeine.

Healthy tips to treat diabetes with fasting

Healthy tips to treat diabetes with fastingHealth experts stressed that patients with diabetes mellitus are still able to perform the fasting of Ramadan that became pillars of Islam for Muslims. How to eat a healthy fruitThe benefits of fruit would be more optimal if we know how to eat well, apart from maximizing the portion of 10 healthy servings of fruit every day. Some other things also need to be considered, from how to eat to how to wash it.

Eat immediately, blend, fresh juice, or bottled? Make a habit of eating the fruit directly to chew to take advantage of the fiber. It is rather difficult for the elderly or children. If the condition is not possible, choose the second way, which is blended (not juiced). Because the fruit juice from the fruit consumed only water, not fiber. However, for variety and ease to meet intake 10 servings of fruit each day, the juice can be a combination of eating the fruit which is also recommended. While bottled juice better choose the original fruit juice packaging.

Select packaging with pickling juices which meet nutritional standards. Food technology research to find a safe preservation with UHT, with heating in temperatures of more than 150 degrees celsius, but the process is only 1-2 seconds. Damage to fruit substance remain, but very little.

Eating fruits anytime
There is no rule when to eat fruit. Whether before, after, or while eating. Eat fruit at any time, even as a companion to eat rice, like fresh vegetables.

Human digestive considered a genius, because when eating, the stomach will digest the food intake, including fruit. Instead of fruit into the food good bacteria the body needs.

Washing the fruit with warm water flush
We recommend that you wash the fruit with water it and not soaked. However, make sure the water to wash the fruit is warm and not hot water dispenser. Water temperature is 70 degrees Celsius cooler. To wash the fruit should the water temperature 50 degrees celsius so that vitamins are not destroyed by heat.

As much as possible to eat 10 servings of fruit at once. If you can not do it, for its portion, three in the morning, three in the afternoon, and four servings in the evenings. Eat the healthy fruits before bedtime is also good. Or make fruit as a snack in between main meals.

10 fruits that safe consumed each day for sick patientsIf every day you should consume 10 servings of fruits, different kinds and colors, and then how to choose? Especially if you suffer from certain diseases, like diabetes or gastric problems (ulcer). Not all fruits are safe to consume every day, right?

Because we live in country that different varieties of fruit-producing, would not be difficult to actually select it. About the price, certainly not as expensive as blueberries. Options are safe to consume fruits every person, whatever the illness, also not hard to find. Price is so cheap.

Clinical nutritionist, says that 10 servings of fruit daily are safe to eat like apples, pears, citrus, guava, grape, watermelon, cantaloupe, papaya, passion fruit, and tomatoes. Carrots and plantains are also safe to consume. Star fruit can occasionally, but less for patients with kidney disease.

New challenging behaviour charter launched

I noticed the item below (with links and images added here) on the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities Forum. It makes a very important point:
"The label 'challenging behaviour', has become misused over time."
My worry is that this finding is not just relevant to individuals with learning disability and their families, but other groups.

People with dementia, especially in the latter stages can present with behaviour that is increasingly described as 'challenging'. Care facilities are being commissioned and designed with the requisite care, staffing and environment to provide care for people in an effort to provide the highest quality and standard of nursing care.

To some extent these are distinct groups with specific needs. So the use of 'challenging' in one context obviously has a different currency and meaning in another. Whilst the practise and care environments may be separate, is there no place where cross-over may occur? I remember a local RCN meeting presentation that highlighted the demographic trend of dementia within the learning disability population.

To start a painting we often start with a wash:
efficiency - puts a broad brush in the hand.

As we aspire to provide person-centred care
what type of brush do you hold?

We paint with the words we use - take care.

The Challenging Behaviour - National Strategy Group has launched a charter to promote the human rights of individuals with learning disabilities who are perceived as challenging.

Up to 27,000 people with learning disabilities in the UK may have been given a label of challenging behavior, resulting in this group of people being - stigmatised and socially excluded denied the right to ordinary lives in the community, to education, recreation and employment placed in institutional settings a long way from home and families.

The label challenging behaviour, has become misused over time. Rather than being used as a term to encourage carers and professionals to understand the underlying reasons for a person's behaviour, 'challenging behaviour' has been used as a diagnostic label, viewed as being intrinsic to the person.

The Challenging Behaviour - National Strategy Group want people (and organisations) to sign up to the charter to register their support for the principles it contains and to commit to action to improve the lives of children and adults who are labelled as challenging. We need as many people as possible to support us, so please ask your friends and family to sign up too.

What is the Challenging Behaviour - National Strategy Group?

The Challenging Behaviour - National Strategy Group (CB-NSG) was launched on November 7th 2008. The CB-NSG is a key national group to address the needs of children, young people and adults with learning disabilities whose behaviour is perceived as challenging.

Members of the CB-NSG include family carers, representatives from the Department of Health, Royal College of Psychiatrists, British Psychological Society, Royal College of GP's, NHS Trusts, researchers, service providers and a range of practitioners, regulators, commissioners and third sector representatives. The group is action and outcome focused and comes together twice a year to monitor progress, share best practice and develop coordinated action plans.

What is challenging behaviour?
"Behaviour can be described as challenging when it is of such an intensity, frequency, or duration as to threaten the quality of life and/or the physical safety of the individual or others and it is likely to lead to responses that are restrictive, aversive or result in exclusion." (Challenging behaviour - a unified approach; RCPsych, BPS, RCSLT, 2007)
Challenging behaviour is things like hitting your own head against a wall, pulling curtains down or pulling someone's hair. Often people do this because they cannot communicate with words and they have little or no choice and control over what is happening to them. How do I find out more?

To find out more about the Challenging Behaviour National Strategy Group, please refer to 'All change' the Summer issue of 'Challenge' today. This issue focuses on the work of the National Strategy Group and includes articles from Dr Roger Banks (Consultant in the Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities), Jackie Edwards (Family carer) and Bob Tindall (United Response).

"In addition to opening the bookstore business, frankly I really had long traded palm fruit. Because many are asking, I also sell juice later dates, "he said.

The journalists who interviewed him later suggested that Said's record number of people asking about the date-palm juice, either by phone or coming directly. Understandably, after he was told by the newspaper, and later spread the recipe on the internet mailing list, many are calling to say thank you for the recipe proved efficacious its date juice.

"I noted their testimony in the book. The number has a lot, about a thousand people more. Many of them who then become customers dates that I sell, "he said.

Said did have blood merchants. Well, since the merchandise proved efficacious for health, he increasingly diligent consultation and exchange thoughts about the dates with doctors, nutritionists, and health professionals. Supported by a knowledge of kitchen spices commonly used in the Middle East, Said's attempt to dig deeper potential dates to cure diseases.

Apart from dengue, Said has so far been trying to exploit the properties dates for indigestion, increase of hemoglobin (HB), and lowering blood sugar. "My friend, a doctor, I've tried herbs, palm-plus black pepper and other spices. Blood sugar which was originally on the 400, dropped to below 200, "said Said.

Tell, other than those consumed away without mixture to cure certain diseases, and others must be mixed herbs to cure other diseases. More than that, there are also certain types of dates are efficacious to cure certain diseases, unfortunately not efficacious to cure other diseases.

"There are types of palm-fitting for those with diabetes or problems with digestion. The price is relatively cheaper than the usual dates. We want to choose who lived where, "he said.

Dates that are suitable for diabetics is the type of Nagal. Dates of this type is a bit oval than usual dates, and it felt a little bitter. The price is cheap, ranging from Rp 14 thousand per kg. Since there are no exact rules, according to Said, the consumption of this type should not date more than ten grains per day as well as dawn broke.

For those who experience stomach upset or ulcers can choose the type of Fard. His trademark, black fruit color and taste more bitter than Nagal. More expensive, ie USD 20 thousand per kg.

In addition in the form of ripe fruit, dates can be enjoyed in various preparations, ranging from juice, biscuits, jam, until the honey to the milk mixture. Processed dates are now easily found in the market.

Palm sugar absorption within the body fairly quickly, about 45-60 minutes, compared with the absorption of starch in rice that require long hours. That's why palm is an excellent food for breaking fast because it can supply quick energy intake.

Dietary fiber contained in a date palm is big enough, about 2.2 grams per 100 grams. Fibers useful in lowering blood cholesterol levels by inhibiting absorption of fat or cholesterol in the intestine, so that does not increase blood cholesterol.

The presence of fiber is good for overcoming constipation. With a fairly smooth texture, fiber, palm-safe for sensitive stomach or intestinal inflammation sufferers. As with other vegetable foods, dates do not contain cholesterol. Kurma contain good fats are beneficial for health.

Awareness for Dangerous Health Symptoms

To avoid/overcome dangerous health problems,just we have speak up when we think something is wrong.

Here is there are some medical symptoms which we shouldn’t ignore for our healthy life.

(1) Paralysis of the arms or legs, tingling, numbness, confusion, dizziness, double vision, slurred speech, trouble finding words, or weakness, especially on one side of the face or body.

These are signs of stroke-or a "brain attack"-in which arteries that supply oxygen to the brain become blocked or rupture, causing brain tissue to die.

Symptoms depend on which area of the brain is involved. If a large blood vessel is blocked, a wide area may be affected, so a person may have paralysis on one side of the body and lose other functions, such as speech and understanding. If a smaller vessel is blocked, paralysis may remain limited to an arm or leg.

Timing is urgent; fast treatment can potentially stop brain tissue death before permanent brain injury happens.

(2) Chest pain or discomfort; pain in the arm, jaw, or neck; breaking out in a cold sweat; extreme weakness; nausea; vomiting; feeling faint; or being short of breath.

These are signs of heart attack.

Not everyone who has a heart attack feels chest pain or pressure or a sense of indigestion. Some people, especially women, the elderly, and people with diabetes, get "painless" heart attacks, the doctors say. Being aware of "painless" heart attack signs is crucial: a very weak feeling, sudden dizziness, a pounding heart, shortness of breath, heavy sweating, a feeling of impending doom, nausea, and vomiting.

(3) Tenderness and pain in the back of your lower leg, chest pain, shortness of breath, or coughing up blood.

These are symptoms of a potentially dangerous blood clot in your leg, especially if they come after you've been sitting for a long time, such as on an airplane or during a long car trip. These signs can also surface if you've been bedridden after surgery.

Blood is more likely to pool in your legs when you're sitting or lying down for long periods of time, as opposed to standing and walking. If a blood clot forms in your leg as a result, your calf can feel swollen, painful, and tender to the touch; you should be evaluated. If you get sudden chest pain or shortness of breath, a piece of the blood clot may have broken off and traveled through the bloodstream to your lungs

Book: "Outcome Measurement in Mental Health" Cambridge University Press

Outcome Measurement in Mental Health
Theory and Practice
Edited by Tom Trauer
Hardback
Published June 2010

In order to operate in an evidence-based fashion, mental health services rely on accurate, relevant, and systematic information. One important type of information is the nature of the problems experienced by recipients of mental health care, and how these problems change over the course of time. Outcome measurement involves the systematic, repeated assessment of aspects of health and illness, either by service providers, service recipients, or both. From outcome measurement clinicians and service recipients achieve a common language whereby they can plan treatment and track progress, team leaders and managers secure a basis to compare their services with others and to promote quality, while policy makers and funders derive evidence of effectiveness. This book will be an essential and practical resource for all members of the mental health clinical team as well as those responsible for establishing or managing services, and directing policy.

• Presents a global perspective on outcome measurement enabling readers to compare and contrast practices around the world
• Enables readers to identify the specific challenges presented in different groups and settings, the instruments to use, and how to use the results
• Emphasizes the relevance and use of outcome data to clinicians, to help them improve their effectiveness

Benefits of breadfruit plants for blood vessels health

Benefits of breadfruit plants for blood vessels healthMaybe we are already familiar with breadfruit. If you love to consumption breadfruit, there's good news. Apparently, plants that grow around us has powerful properties for health, especially for the heart disease and blood vessels disorder.

Heart disease and blood vessel disease is increasingly a big health problem along with lifestyle changes. Diet high in animal fat or lack of physical activity and smoking habits into several risk factors trigger the heart and blood vessel disorders.

All parts of the breadfruit plants containing flavonoids. A number of flavone derivatives have been isolated and identified the roots and twigs of this plant before. Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) is included in Moraceae family or Mulberry family.

Plants are grown in tropical regions, like Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. Indonesian people use the leaves of breadfruit for the traditionally treatment of liver disease, inflammation, heart, kidney, tooth pain, and itching.

Taiwanese society has used the roots and stems for the traditionally treatment of heart disease and hypertension. How to use the breadfruit for treatment is to boil the leaves, though nutritious, but still less useful to know the specific content of large, how to use, and dose.

Through long research since 2004, breadfruit plants successfully proved his usefulness. In that study, breadfruit leaves are made into extracts. Extraction with ethanol yield components, namely the three flavonoids and beta-sitoserol which is then examined usefulness.

Efficacy study of breadfruit leaves include platelet aggregation (clumping thrombocyte), blood viscosity and acute ischemia (lack of blood flow to the heart). The study also includes atherosclerosis (thickening of the walls of blood vessels due to fat accumulation), which includes the accumulation of lipids (fats) in the aorta, and blood cholesterol.

Efficacy tests in vitro (in an artificial environment) and in vivo (in live bodies) against the plant extract showed very good results.

Studies in vivo, for example, concluded that the ethyl acetate extract containing flavonoids and beta-sitoserol with a ratio of 100 mg / kg and 20 mg / kg inhibits platelet aggression, reduces blood viscosity, and protect it protects the heart from acute ischemia.

Next, test the efficacy of ethyl acetate extract on blood cholesterol levels and accumulation of fat in the blood vessel wall of the aorta in Wistar rats showed that the ethyl acetate extract dose of 150 mg / kg body weight can reduce blood cholesterol levels significantly.

Breadfruit is also able to inhibit fat accumulation in the aortic blood vessel walls. "There was no accumulation of fat," says Tjandrawati.

Power poison

In that study also tested the power breadfruit leaf extract poison from them. The good news, subkronis toxicity tests conducted during 90 days in the rat strain Sprague Dawley conclude that administration of ethyl acetate extract of leaves of breadfruit with varying doses, ie, the test dose of 83.33 mg / kg body weight per day, 166.65 mg / kg bodies per day, and 333.35 mg / kg body weight per day did not affect the function of the heart, kidneys, liver or blood profile.

Acute toxicity test in male and female ICR mice using high doses of total flavonoids 4.5 g / kg body weight and Beta-sitoserol 2.5 g / kg body weight showed no weight loss and even tended to rise. Observations on the behavior of test animals during the experiment, such as how to test animals to walk, eat, drink, and the brightness of the eyes and hair and also did not show signs of poisoning.

College of Social Work

At the moment there is an ongoing consultation relating to the creation of a College of Social Work. Here is an explanation from the website - http://www.collegeofsocialwork.org.uk/
Welcome to the home of the campaign for an independent, professionally led national college of social work across the UK. This website is dedicated to supporting the development of a fully independent national College of Social Work which will seek to improve and support social work by providing leadership by and for the profession.

The College of Social Work will lead the development of the profession and represent it in discussions with organisations that regulate, train, work with, and are affected by social work.

For several decades social workers have been my colleagues on the ground floor, doing the 9-5 turn and more. I once started a talk to a local constabulary on service development and thought the reception was a bit odd: the introduction met with a frosty tone in high summer. Things settled when I revealed I was a nurse, not a social worker. The audience highlighted the need - this was well over a decade ago - for more effective out-of-hours access to social work and mental health service colleagues. Things have improved markedly and with ongoing re-organisation pressures on the NHS and social services, the need for radical change has now shifted to social work itself.

I do hope the new College of Social Work will consider the health career model as a potential foundational and lifelong learning resource. The qualities and relevance of the model to the social work profession are manifold, and include the model's being:
  • person-centred -
  • the model is also socially oriented (25% of the model concerns the 'social' agenda);
  • recognizes the oppositional experience of person - state / law;
  • can support reflective models of practice for new learners and established staff;
  • the vulnerable can be represented there - infants, adults, older adults ...;
  • multidisciplinary in scope, or phrased another way - discipline neutral;
  • multi-contextual in scope, individual (self), group (family, community), service (resources, policy), budgets (financial), recovery, strengths, information-education, quality and outcomes (reporting);
  • a currency to support interprofessional education and training, and -
  • prior to the above provides a tool for curriculum development.
Best wishes to our social work colleagues as they set out on their own journey, which can also provide a vehicle for sharing.

Healthy tips to prevent premature aging

Healthy tips to prevent premature agingTry to remember, your consumption of fruits every day. Have varied, from the type, color and its portion? Talk servings should ideally be 10 servings of fruit every day. If not, time to train yourself, get used to consumption of fruits portion is close to or exactly ideal. If you want to skin it is always young and fresh, and delay the aging come too early.

One of dyes from fruits contain antioxidants which can counteract free radicals. This benefit can be overcome various illnesses, including also make the skin fresher, brighter, and not wrinkled. Moreover, if the activity more daily contact with sunlight.

By routinely consumption of fruits, either whole fruits, crushed (blend), or made of fruits juice every day, 10 servings, 10 species and 10 different colors of fruits every day, intake of antioxidants can be fulfilled. Try at least five servings a day.

The more consumption the fruits, the greater the antioxidant effect. Try health with consumption three servings of fruit, increased to five, seven, ten servings each day. Healthy children tips, DHA and ARA should be balanced

Healthy children tips, DHA and ARA should be balancedIn addition to genetic factors and stimulation, nutrition also plays a major role in optimizing the child's intelligence. One of the most important in the development of the brain is DHA and ARA are needed at the baby's brain growth and development. To function optimally, these two components must be given in appropriate doses.

The result of the latest clinical research shows that babies are given milk with DHA and ARA supplementation appropriate, ie, 17 mg/100 kcal mg/100kkal DHA and ARA 34, has a rate of better problem-solving in the age of 9 months. "Research shows these children have the skills in thinking, memory, and also a good level of focus," Michael J. Fitzgerald said, MD, a pediatrician from Bolingbrook Hospital, Illinois, USA.

Research also shows, the level of intelligence of children who receive DHA and ARA are also better in the first year of life. At the age of three years, cognitive development and ability to talk to children are also better.

Breast milk is the main and baby foods are rich in long chain fatty acids polyunsaturated, including DHA and ARA. This fatty acid is required since the baby still in the womb until birth and grow up. Therefore lactating mothers are advised to consume the food sources of DHA, such as eggs, chicken or fish. The content of DHA is very rich in fish. The bigger the fish the greater its content of DHA.

The function of DHA for nerve or myelin tissue wrapping, which will be launched nerves delivery orders. In other words, the substance that makes neural networks capable of delivering nerve impulses to the brain better. Therefore, intake of DHA should be in sufficient quantity.

Drupal musings 8: Styling the archive

I've been editing the basic html pages (as mentioned before on W2tQ) these include:
  • Brian Hodges' introduction with a content listing and the scope of the model to help bridge theory and practice.
  • My introduction to the model based on an interview with Brian conducted 28th May 1998 in Manchester, England.
I've been here before and lost the thread, working within Drupal. This time though editing the pages in Textmate, things are taking shape. Three headings, three fonts (currently) Georgia, Droid Serif, Tangerine; styled lists and striped tables. It might be basic, but there is a style sheet that is almost breathing as it INFLATES : deflates, the result of various experiments. The fonts look good except for the FOUT 'flash of unstyled text'. As the previous link shows there are some fixes for that - which I hope will follow in due course. That would be a distraction at this point though as there is much to focus upon. Although the archive will have a style of its own, other parts of the site must reflect its content. That said, there still needs to be some stylistic coherence. ...

Heart care tips how to know the characteristics of a healthy heart

The heart is an organ that is very important. When the heart stopped beating just a few minutes, followed by cessation of blood circulation, our lives are valuable even this will end. That is why the prevention of heart and blood vessel disease should we pay attention.

Actually, we can know if our healthy heart or not. Here are tips that we can use to know a healthy heart.

1. Cholesterol
When likened, LDL or bad cholesterol is the burning house and HDL or good cholesterol as a fireman. A good fireman usually can prevent long-term damage, "Roger Blumenthal said from Johns Hopkins Cicarone Centre.

The higher the HDL cholesterol level, the lower the risk of occurrence of ateroklerosis. For healthy heart, not the bad cholesterol target more than 130 mg / dl and HDL should be higher than 40 mg / dl. HDL cholesterol levels tended to increase with exercise, lose weight and eat lots of fiber.

2. Blood pressure
If uncontrolled blood pressure in recent years, high blood pressure can damage arteries throughout the body, so that the blood vessel wall will be thickened and rigid and clogged so alirah blood to vital organs is blocked. Optimal blood pressure lower than 120/80 mmHg.

Variation of various foods with different combinations of the right nutrients will be beneficial for blood pressure. All various studies have also shown an effective stress reduction also lowers blood pressure. Researchers from Spain mentioned, consumption of aspirin every day also decreased systolic blood pressure 6.8 mmHg and 4.6 mmHg diastolic pressure.

3. Heartbeat
Life is not in your hands, but in your heart. The number of heartbeats per minute (resting heart rate) is one way to predict the age. In a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine noted, men who have resting heart rates above 75 beats per minute (bpm) are three times more at risk for heart attack. Normal pulse is 65 bpm.

"When you do a cardio exercise with low intensity and add a high intensity every two weeks, the heart rate per minute will be reduced," Neal Henderson said from sports medicine experts. Do exercise at least 30 minutes with 60-80 percent of the maximum amount of heart rate.

4. Fasting blood sugar levels
Fasting blood sugar levels is a sign of whether there is any risk of diabetes. If your blood sugar levels is higher, then the opportunity diabetes risk is greater. "People with diabetes have a greater risk of heart disease, kidney and eye disorders," Johanthan Samet said, MD, of Johns Hopkins.

To reduce levels of fasting blood sugar, we need to increase the body's ability to use blood sugar, or increase insulin sensitivity. The best way to achieve this is to reduce weight.

5. C-Reactive Protein
C-reavtive protein or CRP is a plasma protein produced by the liver as a reaction to an infection, injury and inflammatory processes. High levels of CRP indicate inflammation in the body. Because heart disease is due to inflammation in the artery wall then CRP can be used as a general marker of heart disease risk.

Elevated levels of CRP are usually accompanied by increased cholesterol. CRP level is high, ie more than 1 milligram per liter, also associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer. CRP measurement is done by taking blood from the elbow or the back of your palms.

Tips to overcome phobias in children

Tips to overcome phobias in childrenWASHINGTON - A recent study found the best way to eliminate the phobias in the children by introducing them to what is frightening them. Maybe just a ghost, devil and other scary things that solutions will be given a doctor to overcome phobias suffered by children.

The researchers say, fear of spiders, anti-social and stay away from the parents is something normal in children and adolescents. But if fear into the normal life, that's the problem. One way is known as cognitive behavior therapy succeeded in introducing children to fear. By using relaxation techniques and tools that some devices will reduce excess anxiety. Like invite their friends to play to reduce fear or to stay home with their parents is the best way.

Research some time ago, showing the fear when Halloween celebration and this is a big health problem for some children.

"We have introduced the children with their fears, and we teach them techniques to overcome anxiety, but research is not strong enough to show how to introduce a part of the treatment or both is necessary for the advancement of research," says Mayo Clinic in Rochester researcher Stephen Whiteside .

The study will be presented at the Children Pskiatri Academy and adolescent America meeting in Chicago.

Whiteside and colleagues look back on medication and collected about 44 patients with age ranged from 4 to 18 years. A study comparing their practice clinical and protocols recommended manual treatment.

Some children feel scared about what will happen to them or their parents when separated, while others feel scared when playing or socializing with the surroundings. Phobias of children are known by the term phobia or feeling restless and always feel afraid.

The researchers found that manual therapy book that it should have 16 initial clues to introduce phobias in session 10. Tim Whiteside himself to find success at the ninth session by opening introduction evenly in three sessions.

Every child who already knows their phobias, they naturally have the ability to explore himself. Focus more children using the techniques for controlling anxiety, such as relaxation or doing something that can eliminate their anxiety.

"The child began to require therapy, if they have a phobias or anxiety that causes them to stop doing something they like," Whiteside to parental advice.

If they stop playing with their friends and stop doing something they normally did at school or if children or old people feel something watched children become delinquents and then worrying sign that they needed help.

Hopefully, tips to overcome phobias useful for us. If there is any questions about tips to overcome phobias in children or tips phobias for adult, please send via the comment form.

Obese Patients Easily Affected Asthma

Obese Patients Easily Affected AsthmaNEW YORK - The owner of overweight let alone obese people at risk of many diseases, one of which is shortness of breath or asthma. Not only that, doctors in Canada also find it difficult to diagnose whether they have asthma or lung disease because sufferers often experience similar symptoms.

A study in the journal of Canada says the doctor could not tell when a patient was diagnosed with obesity than people in general. But, research has shown that the past, spirometry, standardized tests of lung function, not used as often as they should in asthma diagnosing, Dr. Smita Pakhale said Ottawa Hospital in Ontario, Canada, which sparked a new discovery.

''Asthma should be diagnosed based on symptoms and lung-function testing and the second this could be a factor in the error diagnosis in this study. Pakhale told to Reuters Health News last week - although, he adds, it's just speculation.

Pakhale also showed that high-risk obese adults experience health problems that can cause asthma-like symptoms and shortness of breath chest. It was included in the group with low fitness levels, reflux of acid and high heart disease.

Pakhale said they knew someone who had asthma after being released from the emergency room or medical clinics, should immediately undergo further treatment by primary physicians. In order, he added, they can obtain additional testing or evaluation, which could reveal the cause of truth, when if it was not asthma.

The study involved 496 adults randomly selected from eight Canadian cities that have been diagnosed with asthma. Most of them are obese - a nickname obesity patients - and the rest, a small part of normal body weight.

Overall, lung function tests confirmed 70 percent of participants diagnosed with asthma. Of this amount both men and women, respectively, had undergone emergency treatment-related respiratory problems in the past year.

Obese participants who did not have asthma, as many 21 percent, it has also been urged to seek treatment for respiratory symptoms in the last year. While the percentage of respiratory symptoms and asthma symptoms in men and women of normal body weight less than 10 percent.

The art and science of Serresian spin

To Michel Serres:
- the middle is a point of reflection, a point at which questions - the question - must be asked. In fulfilling the purposes of the health career model:
  • bridging the theory - practice gap;
  • facilitating holistic practice;
  • supporting (personal and group) reflection;
  • enabling curriculum development;
- the model's four domains are constantly (re-)visited in turn. Motion is constant. Conception - birth provides that initial impetus. Health status. Life - momentum. Centered on the person the movement is usually self-correcting, seeking balance. Health care. Questions and answers whether whole or in part follow, leaving a trail of care delivered and care planned. A record.

There is definite synergy between our use of the health career model, the dynamic quality and quantity of health and social care and Serres' description of the spinning top:
"The behaviour of the cone or the top is worth analysing. Throw this toy and describe, as Plato did, what happens. It is in movement, this is certain, yet it is stable. It even rests on its point or its pole, the more so as its movement is rapid. All children know this. But its rest is still more paradoxical. The top may move about, by translation, without ever losing its stability. To repeat, it can do so as long as it turns very quickly.

Even better, its axis may lean, take on an inclination, without putting the movement of the whole in too much danger. It may again rock, by nutation, oscillating around a mean location. This very ancient and quite childish machine is marvellously instructive.

First of all, it combines and the movements known and thinkable at the time: rotation, translation, fall, leaning and swaying. An integral model, additive, overcharged, yet simple. Second, and above all, it conjoins in a simple one-off experiment phenomena judged or presumed to be contradictory. It is in movement and rest, it turns and yet does not move, it rocks and is stable. The simplicity of a complexity, first and foremost, an additive machine; a synthesis of contradictions, beyond anything else. Now it may serve as a little model of the world, for a naive simple and local orrery. It quivers, at rest, it moves forward, turning, like the heavens, like the stars." p.28-29.

Alternative therapies efficacy bath sand of Siwa Egypt

Alternative therapies efficacy bath sand of Siwa EgyptCAIRO - Siwa is a valley in the North West side of Cairo with a distance of approximately 600 km. Communities have different languages with the Egyptian society in general.

Historical relics remaining shows that they never had a high civilization since 3000 BC. There are sites such as Mount of the Dead (hill landfill mummy), Haykal worship the god Ammon at the time of the dynasty pharaoh, Cleopatra's Pool, the legacy of Alexander the Great, the ancient Shiva Castle and so forth.

Siwa society has inherited traditional medications sciences who continue to defend them until now. With traditional medicine or traditional recipes, they can live naturally healthy without having to go to doctors, health clinics and pharmacies. One such treatment method is a very unique way with a bath of sand that is heated by sunlight to 45 degrees Celsius, even more.

"We're here never went to the doctor, also never buy drugs that contain chemicals. We're seeing a natural way the hot sand bath," Yousef said, the Siwa's guide for 50 residents of Al-Azhar university students from Indonesia who tour in the Siwa valley on July 6 last ago. Efficacy of this treatment method was to invite the attention of many people. So that many patients who come from outside the Siwa region. "They come from afar to Siwa to seek traditional treatment in the bath of sand," said Mushlih Nahidh, a student of Al-Azhar in Cairo who often to Siwa.

The secrets of the Siwa bath sand

Yousef explained, according with Siwa traditional health sciences, the emergence of various diseases are caused by conditions that are not healthy water element in the body. Therefore water must be throw away. And a more powerful method for it is by the hot sand bath in Hammam Raml (sand bath).

This sand bath is expected to be issued a 3-4 liters of water from the body through sweat. Along with that out various kinds of diseases such as rheumatism, uric acid, stroke, cholesterol, and others.

Yousef, a Siwa guide who speaks fluent English and Arabic would not let his Indonesia guests soluble in curiosity. With pleasure he brought them to the location of the hot sand baths.

Arriving at the scene, there were no bathing pool, the river was also. That there are only dozens of tents lined up in the middle of the desert. In front of these encampments seen several young men were digging sand up to a dozen holes with a depth of about 50 cm. Length wide enough to bury a human body.

Approximately 10 minutes later, a pickup came with a bunch of people. And it turns out they were the patients who will engage in the practice hot sand bath. One patient went into the hole. Her clothes were replaced with a towel to cover nakedness.

He took a position lying facing the sky. Then planted with sand which reaches 45 degrees Celsius heat. After the private parts completely covered by sand, a towel that had been worn pulled slowly. Further burials continued until the limit of the neck. To avoid heat shock, the patient's head was shaded by a blanket that refuted with wood. However, her face still looks red sweat.

After burying one patient, the others took positions in the holes that are already available to the left of the first patient. Burial takes between 10 minutes to 15 minutes. After the patient is removed from the hole, closed private parts, and then inserted into the camp, a distance of one meter from the hole to recess.

The clumps of wet sand that made an impression at his funeral shows the number of levels of water coming out of the pores of his skin. Conceivably, if the water is removed from the patient's body reaches 3 liters to 4 liters over a period of 15 minutes, means she has up to 3 kg diet in a relatively very short! Want to try the practice Siwa alternative therapies?
