How to Correct Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding for infants up to the origin can be carried out correctly. Lactating breast with one hand just to make the other side to stop producing milk, so it is better alternately between the left and right.

However, to obtain complete nutrition, move side to be done at the right time.

It seems trivial, because basically both sides of the breast can equally be used for breastfeeding. Using the right side and left only a matter of choice, but every choice has consequences themselves.

Always use the right side alone will make the left side stopped producing milk, and vice versa. Meanwhile, all too often move from one side to the other side was not much better.

"The correct way to breastfeed with both sides is to use one side until totally exhausted, only then move to the other side," said dr. Ni Wayan Ani Purnamawati, Sp.KJ. in the soft launch ceremony Lactation Clinic Koja Hospital in North Jakarta, Thursday (20/05/2010).

One side should be used until completely discharged, because there are two types of fluid milk did not come out simultaneously. The first type will come out first, ie 'first milk' the colored nodes.

'This initial Milk contains more protein, which is beneficial for cell growth in babies,' explains dr. Wayan.

The next Type is 'milk end of' the white coloring and out lately. This second type according to Dr. Wayan contain more fat, functions to increase baby's weight.

"To get both, one side of the breast should be sucked up. If it is too often the move, can-can milk your baby receives only just beginning. As a result, less weight," said dr. Wayan.

According to dr. Alex, this recommendation applies also for mothers who breast milk because they do not have time to breastfeed their own. Both sides have to be milked in a balanced way, and each must reach out.

In addition, dr. Wayan also do not recommend to use only one side of the breast. Both sides must still be used interchangeably, so that everything still produce milk.
