Forcing a trigger Weaning Child Trauma

When to wean their children, mothers often put something so that her nipples felt bitter. This kind should be avoided, because the psychological trauma can trigger on the child.

There are no restrictions should be sure about when a child starts to wean. But since the child's recommended age 2 years, reduced the frequency of breast-feeding began.

Nutritional needs of children began to flourish, breastmilk is not sufficient anymore so had to switch to other foods. In addition, at the age of weaning is also intended to limit the emotional attachment between mother and child so as not excessive.

Ideally, the initiative to stop breastfeeding must come from the children themselves. Ways that are coercive or lying to children should be avoided because it will affect the psychological development of children.

dr. Ni Wayan Ani Purnamawati, Sp.KJ. presents it on the sidelines of launching soft Lactation Clinic Koja Hospital in North Jakarta, Thursday (05/20/2010). 18-36 months of age he says, is the toilet training or encouragement to learn to balance and control, among other ways urination.

In the matter, the parent becomes an authoritarian figure in the eyes of a child having to drive when and where the child urinate. If while weaning the parents using the same attitude, then it will be even stronger impression in the minds of children.

In the eyes of children, parents who are too forbidden to feed appears as a frightening figure and make them feel anxious. During its development, the child becomes powerless when dealing with outsiders who insist.

In ways that will be forced by the children, among others, spreading seeds of mahogany to the nipple feels bitter. Lied by putting duct tape and told the children that were injured nipple is not too good.

"The ways such as possible be avoided. If at that age children are always forced and directed, he will grow up to be paranoid," said dr. Wayan.

According to dr. Wayan, weaning can be done gradually by starting to reduce the frequency of breastfeeding at age two years. Slowly, the initiative to stop breastfeeding would come naturally from the child.
