Jakarta, Indonesia this year will be the host for the conference Aaah (Asia-Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health), which consists of 15 countries. The plan of this conference will be held in Bali on 4-6 October.
Aaah is an alliance partnerships in the Asia Pacific region in response to the needs of global and regional action in order to increase the capacity of member countries in the areas of planning and health management.
This alliance was followed by 15 countries namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Indian, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
"The purpose of this conference is to create a foundation for regional members in Asia Pacific and its partners at the global level, to cooperate in the development of health human resources systems either short term or long term and to accelerate the achievement of the MDGs," said Dr. H. Boxed M. Akib Aman, SPR, MARS as Head of Planning and Utilization of Health Manpower Kemenkes in a press conference in the event Kemenkes building, Jakarta, Friday (05/21/2010).
Dr. Akib said this year the Ministry of Health has appointed a health PPSDM Agency in this case the Central Human Resource Planning and Utilization of Health as the country focal points.
The theme is taken at this year's conference is 'Challenges for Achieving the MDGs HRH', with the aim to address and discuss various challenges in the field of health human resources in order to achieve the MDGs.
The conference is planned to be opened by the Minister of Health, which was followed by plenary sessions and parallel discussion and discuss follow-up of Aaah. It also will be visits to various health care facilities both private and public, educational institutions and health goverment workers private property and the relevant district office in terms of achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
"We still discuss means of governmental and private health care anywhere to be visited within three days of this conference," said Dr. Akib.
This conference is held every once a year alternately in place in member states, before the conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2006, Beijing, China in 2007, Colombo / Kandy, Sri Lanka in 2008 and Hanoi, Vietnam in 2009.
